Can I order a sim card from verizon with my current plan and use it in a unlocked gsm phone?

I am on a family plan with verizon. Can I just order a sim card to put in a unlocked phone but not have to change anything? Can you special ordEr sim cards from verizon wireless?

Verizon phones don’t use sim cards. You cannot use a GSM phone on the Verizon network except for a Verizon-branded global phone. Another thing to note, Verizon will not activate a non-Verizon-branded phone on its network.
