Do you need to take off thebattery when you use laptop and do external connection(AC)?

We’ve said ,the lifespan of batter is not depend upon its amount time ,on the contrary ,it is depend upon frequency of charge and discharge practically ( NOT the times of testing software).

If you do not take off battery often from laptop ,once you pull out AC electricity supply , the battery still would discharge gradually even though you do cut off electricity supply of laptop( because the lithium ion battery is not insulative totally, moreover, battery is intergrated in sterring circuit ,when you turn on AC electricity supply, battery will go on to be dischagred. (most of batteries will be dischaged when electricty quantity is under 95%, different model battery has different design).

So, battery will be charged and dischagred over and over when you pull out or turn on electricity supply, it is very bad for the battery that owns great memory effect nickel-hydrogen battery, although the memory effect of lithium ion battery is not strong ,not discharge totally often still reduce the lifespan of battery in certain degree; In addition, the “heat” when laptop works also influence the lifespan of batter.

So, I suggest that we had better take off battery when laptop works in a steady electricity supply ,instead of using electric power adapter .Of course ,if the condition of electricity supply is very bad when you use laptop, meanwhile ,you do not use external connection of UPS, you had better link battery with UPS, after all ,compare with a laptop worth over ten thousands ,a battery is still cheap .Do not strain at a gnat and swallow a camel ! hehe

Nokia lithium ion battery?

My Nokia’s BLC-2 Li-on battery has started not to last very long during calls, but also takes a very short time to get back to the “battery full” message. I do tend to keep it on charge at home, on the desk and in the car and not use it very much at all. I didn’t think Li-on batteries had the dreaded “memory effect”. However, I do know that they “age” and I bought it in mid-2004. Is it time to replace it?

Yep needs replacing it’s just old age that’s pretty good for an old Lithium Ion you can pick em up cheap on eBay

A cordless battery powered circular saw is one tool that I will always keep in my possession. When they first came out a lot of experts were skeptical about how much power they would have. Well they aren’t as powerful as a corded circular saw but they run a close second.

Cordless battery powered circular saws are designed to handle 2x stock. All the saws come with carbide tipped blades. This is because you need a sharper, better cutting blade with this tool because you wouldn’t have the reserve power to force the blade through your cut if the blade was dull.

Most manufacturers sell these saws in kits with other cordless battery powered tools, usally a cordless battery power drill. Skill is one manufacturer who does not sell this tool by itself. So check around and see if anybody does sell it by itself and also check if it comes with a extra battery. I recommend getting a extra battery so that while you are working you can have a battery ready for when the battery in the saw starts to lose power. Most of these batteries recharge themselves in about a half hour.

Safety is not a big concern because this tool is lightweight and easy to handle. Just be careful to always remember that when the battery is in it’s just like having a corded tool plugged in.

On a scale of 1 to 10 on the importance of having this tool in your shop, I give it a 10. This tool is great for many projects and so easy to handle it is a must have tool for everybody.

Can I use an original Nokia battery for a Nokia 5310 clone?

The battery only lasts for 4-5 hours with the vibrate function turned off. I’m sure that the battery is of low capacity since it’s just a clone phone. As of the moment, I can’t really afford to buy an original Nokia so I’m wondering if it would be safe to buy an original Nokia battery (BL-4CT) and use it on my china clone phone? thanks, your answers are pretty much appreciated

no, you need to send the battery back to seller and they can replace for free.

A cordless battery powered sawzall is a great asset to your tool collection. It can be used on major construction jobs or jobs around the house. They are easy to use and without a cord to drag around, easy to maneuver.

These sawzalls come with two different types of blades. A fine tooth blade which is used for cutting metal and a coarse blade if you are cutting wood. The blades are a breeze to change and take only seconds to change. Just raise the blade release lever and insert the blade shank side first, lock it down and you are ready to go.

These saws are sold separately and also in kits with other cordless battery powered tools. Most brands are compatible with each other with power and battery life. I recommend getting one with a 18v battery which will give you enough power to cut through most anything.

As far as safety is concerned, these saws being lightweight handle very easily. One thing to beware of is when your getting close to the end of your cut and the material your cutting is starting to bind the blade can get pinched and the saw has a tendency to jump. Always do what you can to avoid your material from binding in this way.

Overall this is a wonderful tool to add to your collection of indoor cordless battery powered tools, along with your cordless battery lawn tools. On a scale of 1 to 10 on importance of having this tool in your shop, I give it a 9. As always work smarter not harder.

The car battery in your car is the ultimate source of electrical power in your car. Most of the car manufacturers may claim that there won’t be any problems with the batteries whatsoever – but things might not be that simple in the long run. The battery might get damaged, and if that’s the case, then it must be replaced as soon as possible. But replacing a car battery is not at all an easy thing. That’s the reason why we are going to guide your along through the process.

Things you should need:

1- A new car battery

2- Adjustable wrench

3- Wire brush

4- Lithium grease

5- Baking soda paste

Steps to replace a car battery: Step 1: First off, disconnect all the electrical circuits associated with the car battery. When dealing with car batteries always protect your hands with some materials like protective hand gloves or something like that. In every car battery, you will see a greenish like stuff. This is a corrosive at the same time acidic substance which if comes in contact with our naked hand, can cause serious damage like burns etc.

Step 2: Now test the battery – and make sure that it charges and discharges without any problems. You may use a wire brush and baking soda paste for removing that greenish on the battery terminals. Again, don’t forget to protect your hands while dealing with car batteries (especially while dealing with that corrosive substance on the terminals).

Step 3: You will have to replace the battery if you think the charge is depleted. First of all you should be removing the connection from the positive terminal and then only attempt doing that at the negative terminal. Clean Car Battery Terminals at that time.

Step 4: Hold down the battery towards its compartment or room and then remove the screws and bolts associated with it.

Step 5: Now seek help from someone and together, lift the battery from the compartment. After that, if you find something in the compartment, clean it using the wire brush and baking soda paste. Generally, corrosive matter is seen over that place and it can only be cleaned using baking soda paste.

Step 6 : Now, it’s time to replace the connections. You should start with the positive battery terminals. After doing at both the ends, you should be spraying lithium grease over the connections.

Step 7: Now, it’s time for checking how things went. If everything went fine, you will see the electrical system in your vehicle working good as it did in the past.

My brother’s nokia 6280 battery is slightly bloated and often switch off by itself. Is it safe to use?

My brother is using a nokia 6280 handphone with a BP-6M battery. Recently, he found that his handphone keeps switching off itself.

Would it be safe to continue using it? What are the reasons for this phenomenon?

That’s very unusual, call provider operator and ask for the nearest shop, and have the battery checked, they should do it for free.

For More Nokia Battery Bp-6m Info Click On The Blue Links Below

Nokia N93i comes as a wave of fresh air for all the tech savvy mobile phone maniacs around the world. Needless to add, it is a slight upgrade version of the powerful Nokia N93 that was introduced as a mighty phone which included some of the finest specifications that can be included in a mobile phone. However, it couldn’t achieve the unprecedented success that manufactures were anticipating after the launch of this device. This was partly due to its appalling size and its excessive weight. The contemporary mobile phone manufactures are going gaga over the “Small is powerful” mantra while conceiving any new device. Seemingly Nokia got so swayed by the technology that it forgot to take the weight as a major consideration while designing this device. So the consequences weren’t as favourable for them.

But the circumstances are hoping to turn propitious with the launch of the Nokia 93i that is a revised version of its predecessor. No prizes for guessing, this handset is lighter at 163 gms in comparison to the original Nokia N93 (180 gms). The dimensions of the new version are also trimmed at 108 x 58 x 25mm than the original N93 which were 118 x 56 x 28mm. This device has also got better with its display that reflects 16 million colours through its OLED display through it’s twist and rotating screen.

There is another conspicuous difference that was noticed in Nokia N93i. This model comes with a different battery (BL-5F 950mAh unit) than its predecessor, which is lighter in terms of weight but provides less talk time as compared to its original version. The latter had BP-6M 970m battery that was heavier but was better with the talk time. So, the users will have to compromise on this aspect if they plan to own this handset. In this manner, the talk time of Nokia N93i has been reduced to 1.7-3.3 hours on 3G and 3.1-3.9 hours on GSM in comparison to 5 hours talk time, promised by Nokia N93.

Let’s talk about the other specs of this device that are just the same as Nokia N93. It is a digital camcorder that is equipped with a top quality 3.2 Mega Pixels camera that clicks/records DVD quality pictures. Then there is 3G connectivity, inbuilt Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for making it work around the world. With a music player, FM radio, TV output feature, expandable memory; Nokia N93i makes a truly world class mobile phone.

We are pretty convinced that this mobile is going to win the adulation of the mobile phone users as a top notch device in the high end slot. Nokia N93i looks like a winner all the way!!

Electric Car Conversions – Batteries

The heart of any electric car conversion is the batteries. You will need special batteries, called deep cycle batteries in order to make your electric car work properly.

These batteries allow you to charge quickly and discharge further than regular car batteries normally found in your vehicle now.

They are called deep cycle because normal batteries would be wrecked by the frequent draining of the batteries used in the system. Think of it as pouring water out of a glass. A regular battery you can only pour about 10% of the water out, but a deep cycle battery you can regularly discharge down 30% or so.

You don’t want to go lower than 30% down though. Topping up a battery that is to the 70% level is as low as you go.

Where do you find deep cycle batteries? We have been living off the grid for over 10 years now and have been living with battery systems to run our home for that long.

The same batteries used with solar panels and wind generators are easily fitted to electric car conversions. They are easy to find, but can get expensive if you don’t know where to look. The plans show some great sources of free batteries too. That is a great savings since the batteries for an electric car can be one of the greatest expenses.

Watch this interesting video that shows some high school students building their own electric car, including a good shot at the batteries.

Video??

A bunch of high school students can do it, so can you.

Finding batteries is not that difficult either, isn’t it time you got started.

Talk about the leading mobile phone manufacturers and the first few names that strike our minds would be Nokia, HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson etc. Undoubtedly these names have grounded themselves so well in the market that their names have started sounding synonymous of perfection. Although all their handsets carry a distinct charm and appeal with them but by comparing the two we are trying to surface the distinction notably to assist the users in making a clear and cognizant buying decision.

Are you troubled for charging the battery too often? or for the short life of the battery

Now days, the cell phone, netbook or other electronics have more and more functions, such as portable media players, DV cameras, Java, Windows cell phones, which make our life fun and interesting. The new high-tech product offer us lots of functions, making our life richer and easier.

It seems that what you need to do is to charge it. Then the one thing we complain is the life of the battery for the new toys.

How to extend the battery life? It seems closely related with how you use it?

The following is some tips for extending battery life.

1. Go through the first three times for fully charged and discharged.

It is the most important thing you can do to improve your battery life, even if the importance of the cycle is less than before.

The battery has a MEMORY and would get used to being at a certain capacity and act as if that was the maximum. Li-ion batteries do have circuits that help to do internal calibration.

Please completely running down the battery of the toys and fully recharging them in the first three times when using them.

2. Try to turn off your model when charging

When charging the model, there’s incoming electric current. Also the model is open, there’s outward electric current. The simultaneous incoming and outward electric current will make the circuit board keep heat. If you make a call when the cell phone is being charged, it’s possible to damage some inner parts.

3. Please charge it a bit longer after it shown fully charged

Generally, when it shows the model is fully charged or the light icon has changed the color, it’s really charged with 90% capacity. If at this moment, you shut off the charger, it may shorten the battery life. The right way is to charge it a little longer after the icon showing fully charged, which will extend the batter life.

4. Avoid extreme heat or cold for your models

Temperature extremes can greatly affect the life and capacity of the battery. Using it with too heat or too cold condition will greatly shorten the life of the battery.

5. Keep charging your model at least once a month

If you don’t need to use it everyday or just use it infrequently, you’d better use and charge it at least once a month.

6. Please don’t think the new battery is with full capacity.

The toy you bought is brand new, but don’t assume its battery is with full capacity. Because it’s a long time (even months) to you after it came off the product line.

Please follow the above tips, you may enjoy better quality of your battery. The original link for the article: http://www.1010store.com/2009/0708/Extend%20Battery%20Life.html

Nokia adds 14 patents to complaint, citing Jobs’ ‘Great artists steal’ comment
Responding to Apple’s vehement countersuit against Nokia , in which it leveled 13 patent infringement allegations against Nokia’s 10, last December 29, Nokia added 14 more to the mix, including for concepts that may perhaps be as integral to the construction of modern telephones as power-conserving voltage-controlled oscillators, and a sensor that de-activates touchscreens while the phone is …

Quickly discharge a Nokia cellphone battery?

My Nokia cellphone (2125 model) is now low on battery but it takes so long to get completely discharged and I don’t have much time now to wait for it.
Any tips or ideas on how speed up the discharge process?

“depends on the phone. Using the digital camera, light feature, mp3 player, multimedia texting, viewing pictures, and things of the sort will deplete battery life.

Another alternative is to call someone who will not be using thier phone and just let the phone sit (as if you were talking to that person). That should do it.

Also powering your phone on and off takes battery power but i would not recommmend it.”

Also, sending a pix message when you have very little service and just letting it sit can work, but i don’t know if you have access to that.

Assault and Battery are very common violations that mostly lead to personal injury cases. The definitions of these violations are different but still are present in all the law traditions. So while being in a foreign country it is better to know the local definition of these offences to avoid them. As for assault in the common law tradition, it is the tort of acting intentionally and voluntarily causing the reasonable apprehension of an immediate harmful or offensive contact. Assault as a tort requires intent, so it is an intentional tort, as opposed to a tort of negligence. Also assault can happen even if the assaulting individual has no actual ability to carry out the apprehended contact. This is useful for cases when someone threats a person with a toy gun for example. Battery in common law tradition is the tort of intentionally, or in some lands negligently, and voluntarily bringing about an unconsented harmful or offensive contact with a person or to something closely associated with them for example a hat of a purse. The difference from assault is that battery involves an actual contact. Actual contact in this case can occur not only between two people, but also between an object or item used by the person that commits battery. For example intentionally hitting a person while driving a car, or throwing a stone at someone can be classified as battery.

In Canada like in the United States there are many ways in which an assault can actually occur. This helps to regulate various situations in which criminals try to avoid punishment by assaulting people by non standard means. Originally assault means that a person directly or indirectly applies force intentionally to another person, but assault can also occur when a person attempts to assault another or threatens to do so without the consent of the other person. An assault not necessary means that the assaulted person was injured. The main thing defining assault is that the used force must be offensive in nature with an intention to apply force. In some cases even taps or pushes are considered to be an assault, still an accidental application of force is not an assault.

Assault is defined in section 265 of the Canadian Criminal Code. The sections from 266 to 272 define various types of assault like: Assault with a weapon (266), Assault causing bodily harm (267), Assaulting a peace officer (268), Sexual assault (270), Sexual assault with a weapon or threats or causing bodily harm (271), Aggravated sexual assault (272).

Usually a person is charged with Assault and Battery if he or she participated in a fight. Getting into a fight for an adult is not a very common thing mostly fights occur between kids, and because kids usually don’t think about the consequences fights can lead to serious legal problems not just for the participants, but also for their parents. In this case the minor will be judged basing on the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
