Nokia Xpress music have stepped up there game and released a great new range of music player phones so Sony Ericsson need to be on the look out for this new competition. At just under 10mm in thickness, it makes this an excellent ultra slim phone, with its conservative design and five way navigation key and great size standard keypad makes it a phone must have.
The Nokia 5310 has three selected music keys situated on the side of the screen and the volume keys situated along the edge. The Nokia 5310 comes in two colours, red & blue and has an easy to hold handset. We think the style is great & we love the feel of the Music phone. The phone is definitely small & light enough to carry everywhere. The Nokia 5310 can be enjoyed even when it has been switched off.
The 5310 is mainly a music phone so not only does it let you play music and listen to the FM radio the 5310 supports the use for an Equalizer, play lists and album art. The loudspeaker is a bit quiet so if possible listen to the music through the stereo headset that comes with the phone or there is the option of a wireless Bluetooth headset.
The sound quality on the Nokia 5310 is perfect since the 5310 has an upgraded sound chip. One of the best things about this phone is there is a decent amount of built in memory (30 Mega-Bytes) but you would benefit from buying a MicroSD memory card that you can buy with up to 4 Giga-Bytes, that’s enough for up to 1000 songs. MicroSD cards do not cost too much money, a 4Giga-Byte card is approx £25. This is a good reason to go all out and get the maximum card available. This makes the 5310 just as good as a Sony walkman phone or dedicated MP3 player.
As well as making calls & being a great music player the 5310 has everything that you will need from a non 3G phone the camera has a sufficient 2 Mega-pixel. It does not have a flash but it takes great pictures in good light. The high-resolution screen is of very good quality. The 5310 uses EDGE technology and has Opera Mini Browser built in and you can use this even though the phone is not 3G.
You can adapt the phone and have wallpapers, animated screensavers, wallpapers and downloaded themes.
The phone has built in games and the option of downloading games from Java.
The only fault with the 5310 is the battery life. Depending on how frequently you use the phone you should get 1-2 days use.
With most phones of this grade, this is usually the case. The Nokia 5310 is an exceptional phone, has many features, has a great LCD screen and ultra thin handset. If you are after a phone with longer battery life then maybe try the SE W910i or the SE W810i.
Take a look at Nokia 5310.
